October 2009 Velasquez Family Update

“ And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.” (Romans 13:11)

When the first century of Christians evangelized their generation they preached with a fervor as if Christ was coming imminently. If they were in the last days then it could be said that we are in the last minute before the coming of the Lord. How much more should we be involved in the task of reaching the world with the gospel. May God not find us sleeping when he comes to rapture His bride. That is why we must be on the field as soon as possible. Since our last prayerletter we have had another six churches partner with us and that means that we are now at 57% of our needed support. We are hoping to be in Spain in one more year. We are so thrilled to be an extension of the ministry of so many wonderful churches. You have been so faithful in your support and prayers. Please know that we will not stop until we are in Madrid, Spain and we will continue in His service until he calls us home.

It has been so exciting to see the reaction of many people regarding our desire to distribute the gospel in DVD into twenty thousand homes in Parla, Madrid. Since our team of missionaries shared this project with supporters we have been able to raise $4,311 which translates into 8,622 households hearing the clear presentation of the gospel. So with the initial investment that we as a team made along with the generous gifts of churches and individuals we have the funds to reach 18,622 households. Remember that these are households and not individuals which means that you can multiply that amount by two or three and that is the amount of souls that will be reached by this special project. Although we are not in Spain it is thrilling to be involved in what is occurring on the field. This project will help us set the groundwork to establish a church in Parla, Madrid. Already my parents and the Andrews are looking for a building to rent. Please continue to financially help us with this endeavor but more importantly pray that God would begin to prepare the hearts of those that will receive the gospel into their homes. Well, we are just one month away from having our baby girl in our arms. We have been busy with all of the preparations for this great blessing from God. As much as my wife loves to travel with me she will have to stay home for the remainder of her pregnancy. This means that we have had to be apart sometimes for a week. As I am writing this letter I am in Virginia at a mission’s conference and Favi and Ian are back in Georgia. I am so thankful for the wife that God has given me. It takes a special woman to leave her family and friends back in Peru to follow me all around the world. I love my wife, what else can I say.
