I was saved in 1975 in Peru, South America after hearing the Gospel presented by a missionary. A year later I surrendered my life to be a missionary. Missions is the heartbeat of God. I am a product of missions. I praise God for sending a missionary to my country. My wife, Andrea, is the daughter of that missionary and in 1978 we were married. After attending Bible College, we began deputation to go to the country of Spain. Priests had come to my country with religion
We moved to Valencia, Venezuela, a city of 2 million people, in January 1997. The Lord allowed us to start 2 churches, one in Valencia and the other one in Guacara. We started a Bible Institute 3 years ago to train leaders for the ministry. We were also able to help start a Christian camp. In 2005, we felt the Lord leading us to turn the church in Valencia over to a Venezuelan pastor. We began praying that God would show us the man of God for that church and also to show us where to begin a new ministry. Because of political unrest in the country we felt that we may not be able to stay in Venezuela much longer. In December 2006, the Lord put into our hearts a strong desire to return to the country of Spain. During this time, we watched God work in Venezuela, raising up a Godly man and his wife, Jairo and Belkis Mendoza, to become the pastor of the church. The people began tithing as never before and the church had enough money to support a full time pastor. We were able to fix up a nice apartment for the pastor's family on the church property and even though the people were sad about us leaving, they had peace about their new pastor and were willing to follow him and help him in the ministry. It broke our hearts to leave the work in Venezuela. However, we are again excited about what God is leading us to do in the new ministry in Spain.
B ecause of the 14 years that we ministered in Spain, we are convinced that the best way to work there is through teamwork. The Lord has already given us a team of three couples. We will be working with our son-in-law and daughter, Jeff and Deanna Andrews, and our son and daughter-in-law, David and Favianna Velasquez. Our goal is to move to a large city, begin Bible studies in different homes, until we have enough people to begin a church. We plan on using different media such as television and radio and also attractive literature to distribute. We want to train leaders to do the ministry and also use music as a tool to reach the lost. Spain has a population of 41 million and there are very few good Bible-believing churches. Many are turning from Catholicism, but are replacing it with atheism and humanism. Please pray that we will be able to reach many Spaniards, as well as Latin American immigrants who live there ,with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

While in Spain we were able to help establish Lighthouse Baptist Church in Alcala de Henares. Out of that church God called 8 men and women into full-time Christian service. In 1996, after working for 14 years in Spain we were able to turn the church over to a Spanish pastor and the Lord led us to leave Spain and continue the ministry in the country of Venezuela.
