Dear Supporting Churches, Friends, and Family

"TRUST YE IN THE LORD FOREVER!"

A preacher told a story once of a couple who had a code phrase that they would say to each other when the going got tough.  "2-6-3-4" they would say.  They were known by all for continually uttering, "2-6-3-4."  Through various circumstances, the husband died an unexpected death.  The wife, once again, claimed their life's phrase, 2-6-3-4.

2-6-3-4 is taken from Isaiah 26:3,4 that says, "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.  Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:" Our duty is not to make our own way or even know what lies before us.  We are to keep our minds on the Lord and Trust in Him through every situation and circumstance of our lives.  We must trust that the Lord knows what is best for us and keep our hearts and minds tuned into Him.  This verse is what kept this couple faithful to the Lord even unto death.  We may not understand the situation in our lives, we may not be able to answer the "why" question, but what we do know is that we can keep our minds on Him and TRUST in Him to lead us down the correct path.

It is God who we are trusting in at this moment as we see the road ahead of us and look at the winding road behind us.  Never in our wildest dreams did we ever believe that the situation in Venezuela would escalate to what it is now and that it would hinder us (as well as others) from getting a visa into the country.  Never would I have imagined that the Lord would burden my heart for the country of Spain and direct our ministry, as well as others, to this needy country.  One thing I do know is that we have committed to trust in His leading and not the leading of men, friends, family, or even our own.  We praise the Lord for how He has led in our lives and as we stand once again at the open door into Spain we are committed to keeping our minds on Him and trusting Him as we take the next step in this wonderful journey.

As there are many things that I would like to write about, I believe that there is one thing that I would like to focus on for this prayer letter.  We are asking everyone that will to PRAY!  We have taken the necessary steps to apply for our visas to get into Spain and we praise the Lord that I have already received mine.  I have until the beginning of October to be in the country of Spain or they will revoke my visa. However, Deanna and Aaron have not received their visas as of this moment.  We have just about raised the recommended support level that our mission board (as well as other major mission boards) recommend.  We have already secured an apartment in Spain that we will start renting in September.   We have packed our things and shipped a crate to Spain.  We want to leave the second week of September, however, we can't do so until Deanna and Aaron receive their visas.

So, our plea is that you will pray for their visas to arrive very soon.  We are trusting that the Lord will give us the visas in His perfect timing.  We are excited and ready and sometimes it is hard to wait.  Please make this a matter of prayer.  We know that when God's people pray, He hears and answers!

Thank you so much for your prayers already.  Thank you to Rich Acres Baptist Church and Andrews Marketing for the very generous offerings towards our passage fund.  We only lack a little.  We praise the Lord for His provision.
